Mississauga Election Results
It comes as no surprise that Mississauga Mayor Hazel McCallion has won a 12th term as mayor Canada’s 6th largest city.
What is encouraging about this election is the high voter turnout. 143,501 eligible voters voted yesterday, making it the largest voter turnout in the last five elctions at 34% of all voters.
Why the strong turnout? My guess is that as Mississauga approaches maturity as a city, residents are becoming more concerned with how our city will grow and what direction it will take over the next 20 years.
